Neil Mendes, CEO
With 25+ years of experience in engineered materials, including polymers, metals, and composites, Neil brings deep industry knowledge and leadership to Alpine Polytech. Prior to joining Alpine, he spent 20 years at Greene, Tweed & Co., where he served as Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. For over a decade, he has led Alpine as co-founder and CEO. He is actively involved in industry organizations, serving in leadership roles with the Energy Polymer Group , API, SPE, NACE, and PESA.
Buc Slay, CTO
Buc holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Materials Science from Texas A&M University, with a focus on flow and fracture of polymers. His technical career includes roles at Halliburton and Weatherford, where he led efforts to select and test materials for oil and gas recovery. At Alpine, he has led as co-founder, CTO, and Laboratory Director for over ten years, overseeing advanced material research and test development. He is an active participant in technical committees, with involvement in ISO, NACE, and API.
Nick Plasket, Chemical Compatibility Team Lead
- Oversees standardized immersion testing at Alpine.
- ISO 23936/NORSOK M710 long- and short-term immersions, API 6A F1.13, NACE TM0187/TM0296 etc.
- Earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Tyler.
Hunter Settle, Special Projects Team Lead
- Oversees unique and bespoke test programs at Alpine
- Failure analysis, analytical testing, R&D testing, in-situ testing, bespoke immersions
- Graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Petroleum Engineering
- Enjoys woodturning and spending time with family
Jerod Venable, Performance Test Team Lead
- Oversees performance pressure, extrusion, and low-temperature sealability testing at Alpine.
- API 6A F.1.11, API 6A F2.2, API 11D1, gas permeation, bespoke pressure programs, etc.
- Earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University.
