Alpine Polytech

Industries
Energy (Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, Ammonia, Carbon Capture)

Alpine supports the energy industry through advanced material and seal testing, tool and component qualification, and analytical services for demanding oil and gas, hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon capture systems. We perform high-pressure, high-temperature testing, seal extrusion resistance evaluations, and aggressive chemical compatibility studies to ensure reliable performance in field conditions.

For oil and gas, Alpine offers tool qualification, including high-pressure, high-temperature testing, PR2 and V0 seal qualification, rapid gas decompression testing, and BPS-A104 pressure cycling, ensuring tools meet or exceed API 6A and API 11D1 requirements before field deployment. We test customer-supplied or Alpine-designed fixtures, ensuring seals, packers, and downhole tools are validated to the pressures, temperatures, and conditions expected in service.

In hydrogen and ammonia, Alpine addresses challenges such as permeation, rapid decompression, and chemical compatibility under cryogenic and elevated temperatures. Ammonia is increasingly used as a carrier for hydrogen transport, requiring materials to withstand ammonia exposure and subsequent hydrogen service without degradation. Alpine tests materials and seals for long-term durability under these challenging conditions, supporting the safe and efficient use of ammonia in hydrogen transport networks.

For carbon capture, we provide chemical compatibility testing in CO₂-rich and acid environments, high-pressure exposure, and seal performance testing to support the development of systems that maintain integrity during long-term CO₂ transport and storage.

Nuclear

Nuclear energy systems require seals and materials that maintain integrity under high pressures, temperatures, and exposure to water, steam, and aggressive chemistries. Alpine supports the nuclear industry by testing elastomers, plastics, and composite materials in conditions representative of service environments to ensure long-term reliability and safety. We conduct exposure testing for critical components such as pressure transmitters, evaluating material stability and seal performance during and after aging to support qualification and component validation for demanding nuclear applications. As an example, we have tested pressure transmitters in exposure conditions to ensure proper readings after many hours and material stability in simulated service environments. Our capabilities help customers validate materials for new designs, assess aging performance, and maintain reliability in critical nuclear operations.

Aerospace

In aerospace applications, seals and materials must perform under extreme temperatures, pressures, and environmental conditions. Alpine supports the aerospace industry with seal and material testing under extreme thermal and vacuum conditions commonly encountered in aerospace applications. We conduct thermal cycling, low temperature sealability, and chemical compatibility testing for seals and materials used in aircraft and spacecraft systems. Using advanced analytical techniques like FTIR, TGA, and DSC, we help customers evaluate material degradation and property shifts for elastomers and plastics used in fuel systems, hydraulic seals, and environmental seals.

Defense

Defense applications require robust testing and qualification of seals and materials to ensure mission-critical performance under harsh conditions. Alpine supports defense programs with material compatibility testing, seal qualification, and high-pressure, high-temperature evaluations to confirm the reliability of components used in defense systems, ground vehicles, and aerospace platforms.

Semiconductor

The semiconductor industry relies on materials and seals that can withstand aggressive chemistries, high temperatures, and vacuum environments. Alpine provides chemical compatibility testing for plastics exposed to acids, bases, and solvents used in semiconductor manufacturing. We can evaluate seal performance under vacuum conditions and thermal cycling for applications in pumps, valves, and chemical delivery systems. Our analytical services, including FTIR, TGA, and DSC, support material screening and failure analysis for semiconductor environments where chemical exposure and thermal shifts affect seal and material reliability.

Renewables

Renewable energy applications, including geothermal and advanced solar systems, require seals and materials capable of withstanding thermal cycling, corrosive fluids, and high pressures. Alpine supports renewables by testing seals and elastomeric materials used in hydrogen systems, wind, and solar applications, focusing on thermal cycling and chemical compatibility. We conduct pressure testing for hydrogen transport systems and chemical compatibility testing in harsh environments using brine, acids, bases, and hydrocarbons under controlled conditions to support component validation for long-term field use.
