Buc Slay Presenting an API 6A Case Study at the AMI Oil & Gas Engineering Conference

Buc Slay, CTO of Alpine PolyTech, will be presenting a collaborative case study between Alpine PolyTech and Oceaneering at the AMI Oil & Gas Polymer Engineering Conference studying the qualification of subsea tools per API 6A, an international testing standard that involves a rigorous combination of hot/cold pressure testing and H2S material stability. Buc's presentation will explore the temperature and pressure cycle testing success of a subsea stab manifold, detail a boundary testing program used to evaluate hot extrusion and low temperature leaking and discuss sour compatibility testing per API 6A for elastomers and plastics.

Buc Slay Represents ISO 23936 Technical Committee

Neil Mendes Invited to speak at 2017 EPG Asia Pacific Conference

Neil Mendes, CEO Alpine Polytech, will speak at the EPG Asia Pacific Conference, a biennial conference and a “must” meeting for Material Managers & Design/Sustaining Engineers in the Oilfield Industry throughout Asia.
This year’s presentation schedule will include topics designed to inform industry representatives about the ever evolving testing requirements, better practices for testing, and interpreting results to communicate value to customers. Participants will also be exposed to “modes of failure” to further help future analysis and resolution of failed products.

Alpine Polytech added an HPHT tool testing facility and expanded its capability to evaluate packers and plugs to API 11D1 accredited V0 gas testing and V3 liquid testing standards. This expansion builds upon their expertise with H2S material aging and seal performance testing. These additions allow Alpine PolyTech to assure its customers the highest level of quality control, providing reverification of mechanical and performance properties through the pressure and temperature cycling of gasses and liquids under the most stringent conditions.
Neil Mendes Elected to the Board of Directors for the Energy Polymer Group

Neil Mendes was elected to the Board of Directors for the Energy Polymer Group. Under this two year commitment Neil hopes to strengthen the group's presence nationally and internationally. As a board member he will also serve as the Equipment Manufacturing Director. In this role he will represent equipment manufactures using molded rubber products to produce equipment for end users. He also hopes to develop partnerships between universities and companies innovating the latest manufacturing technologies. The EPG is a highly-recognized international association of approximately five hundred members. The EPG is a unique blend of polymer professionals, all dedicated to the advancement of polymer technology and education in the energy sector.

As part of our continuous commitment to providing the highest quality products and services, Alpine Polytech is pleased to announce the successful accreditation to ISO / IEC 17025:2005 granted by Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. ISO/IEC 17025:2005, the highest internationally recognized standard for testing laboratories, was developed specifically for companies that intend to implement a quality system aimed at further improving their ability to consistently produce valid results.
Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is obtained through an assessment of a laboratory’s compliance in carrying out specific mechanical tests precisely to the scope of accreditation. ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation also demonstrates that Alpine Polytech has successfully completed the ISO evaluation process which includes recognition of technical competency.
